题目类型：图表填空题

1	1944，came up with	B段的第一句	图表填空题既具有细节题的特点，但又具有其自身的特点，对于图表题，首先看图表的标题，然后看这几个图标之间的关系。该图表标题“Diagram for ECME line on Bakelite,”表明这个图表的内容与ECME生产线有关，具体而言，看图表中的各幅图更直观明了：从第二幅图开始讲述的是ECME生产线上的各个工序内容，这些内容一定都在C段。只有第一幅图例外，第一幅图应该是一个引入性质的图表，肯定在C段之前，根据定位词“1944，came up with”，找到B段第一句”In 1944, Sargrove came up with the answer.” 注意，这里答案不要填“answer,”因为它作为答案会太抽象了，这是一幅工序图，所以应填得具体一些，这个东西应该是下面各图或各工序中加工的对象，究竟是什么，我们再往下文看，因为这一句其实为总述，下一句话会具体展开，所以我们看下一句“His solution was to dispense with most of the fiddly bits by inventing a primitive chip---a slab of Bakelite with all the receiver’s electrical components and connections embedded in it.”意思为“他的解决方案是通过发明一个原始的芯片从而抛弃大多数的精细难做的小部件， ...,” 这里solution和answer是对应的，invent和came up with也是对应的，所以该填invent的宾语，即chip,恰好它的修饰语也是primitive,所以本题答案为chip。
2	Sandblaster, get rid of	C段的第四句和第五句	从第二幅图及其内容描述得知，就应该是进入具体的操作步骤了，所以该到第C段中定位了。根据定位词sandblaster能定位到第四句“First stop is the sandblaster, which roughened the surface of the plastic so that molten metal would stick to it.”，尤其可见这一句中并没有get rid of的内容，所以再看下一句“The plates were then cleaned to remove any traces of grit.”句中有remove这个词，它的含义就是题干中的get rid of，所以本题该填remove的宾语，又因为题目要求填写不得超过2个单词，所以只填核心宾语，即grit。
3	Eight nozzles, emit	C段第七句	由第三幅图及其内容描述得知，它还是操作步骤，所以继续在C段第五句往下找，按照定位词“eight nozzles”，我们找到第七句“Then, eight nozzles rotated into position and sprayed molten zinc over both sides of the plate.”题干中的emit应该和本句中的spray对应，所以该填spray的宾语，所以答案为molten zinc。
4	Remove, the layer of metal	C段第十句	由第四幅图及其内容描述得知，它还是操作步骤，所以继续在C段第七句往下找，按照定位词“remove”及“the layer of metal”，我们找到第十句“the next stop was the milling machine, which ground away the surface layer of metal to leave the circuit and other components in the grooves and recesses.”这一句和题干有很好的对应，ground away对应remove, 而the surface layer of metal 则几乎是原词对应，所以根据本句填写答案，题干让我们填removes the layer of metal的主语，所以该填milling machine.
5	Install, in the end	C段第十三句	本题位于最后一幅图，且题干中有“in the end,”这均表明本本步骤可能为最后一步。用定位词定位到本段的倒数第二句，即第13句“By the time, it emerged from the end of the line, robot hands fitted it with sockets to attach components such as valves and loudspeakers.”这句话中的fit应该和题干中的install是对应的，且有in the end的对应，即“from the end of the line”。按照题干”___ was installed in the end, to attach components such as ___ and ___ of the ECME.” 第5题是填install的宾语，而且是attach这个动作的发出者，所以对应到第13句，第13句说“电路板出现在生产线的最后一步，机械手把插槽安装在电路板上，以安装诸如阀及扬声器之类的部件，”由此可见fit或install的宾语为sockets, 同时sockets还是attach的动作发出者，所以是符合题意的，所以本题填sockets.

题目类型：文章概括填空题

8	Dedicated, create	A段第二句	短文概括填空题具有概括的特性，所以首先需要找到这些概括性的内容在文章中的大致段落（粗略定位），然后再带着定位词在大致段落中进行精确定位。对于本题题干所在句子“Sargrove had been dedicated to create a ___ radio by automation of manufacture.”本句话可定性为Sargrove之前曾经定下的目标是什么？所以在文章中粗略定位时，它应该会出现在文章的开头部分，具体而言，应该在A段。然后带着定位词dedicated和create进行精确定位，发现它们对应A段第二句“For more than a decade, Sargrove had been trying to figure out how to make cheaper radios.”该句中的“For more than a decade, Sargrove had been trying to ...”显然是和“be dedicated to ”相对应的内容；同时“figure out”应该适合题干中的create是对应的，所以该填figure out的宾语内容，即填上cheaper即可符合题干要求。所以填cheaper。
9	Old version, independent	A段第四句、第五句	先分析本题题干“the old version of radios had a large number of independent ___.”定性地来看，本句提到的是一个对比内容，问旧式的收音机的特征，粗略定位在文章开头部分，即A段。然后带着定位词进行精确定位，发现和A段的第四句和第五句有对应，第四句“But radios didn’t lend themselves to such methods: there were too many parts to fit together and too many wires to solder.”这一句话明显是在说old version of radios的情况。第五句“Even a simple receiver might have 30 separate components and 80 hand-soldered connections.”这句话中的separate和independent 是对应，且a simple receiver也应该从属于old version of radio, 所以对照题干，该填components，即填separate的修饰对象，所以答案填components。
10	wireless-style, inexpensive, export oversea	F段第五句	先定性分析题干“After the innovation made, wireless-style radios became ___ and inexpensive to export oversea. ”定性地看，本句是个细节信息点，所以根据相关定位词即可定位到F段第五句“No wires also meant the radios were lighter and cheaper to ship abroad.”所以题目和本句有很好的信息点的对应，wireless-style radios和本句no wires对应，inexpensive 和cheaper对应，export oversea和ship abroad对应，所以填一个形容收音机的形容词，按照第五句，当然就是lighter了，即填一个收音机便于出口的特点，所以填lighter。
11	benefit, manual work	H段第二句	先定性分析题干“As Sargrove saw it, the real benefit of the ECME’s radio was that it reduced ___ of manual work, which can be easily copied to other industries of manufacturing electronic devices.”定性地来看，本句讲述的是在Sargrove看来ECME的好处，这个好处具体而言是可以减少手工劳动的什么方面？先粗略定位，文章中讲到和节约劳动力有关的好处的内容在H段，带着定位词回到这一段进行精确定位，发现在该段的第二句“One of ECME’s biggest advantage--the savings of the cost of labor--also accelerated its downfall.”该句和题干对应的词有advantage,对应benefit; 还有saving, 对应题干中的reduce; labor对应题干中的manual work,所以本题填的内容就应该对应saving的对象，即cost of labor, 起着labor对应manual work，所以就填cost即可。

题目类型：选择题

12	workers, attitude	J段第一、二、三、四句。	该题询问工人们对待ECME的态度，这个信息在文章中的J段，即文章最后一段。第一句是个综述性的句子，下面几句（2、3、4句）详细展开。其中第二句和第四句讲的非常明白。第二句“They viewed automation in the same light as the everlasting light bulb or the suit that never wears out---as a threat to people’s livelihood.”即他们把自动化生产视作对他们生计的威胁。第四句“They would be released to join dole queue.”即工人们认为他们会加入领取失业救济的大军。综上可知，在四个选项中选anxious(焦虑的，不安的，担心的)最好，所以答案选A。
13	\	\	该题询问文章的主要内容。通过前面各题的信息，其实我们对文章的大意已经有了了解。文章主要讲了如下内容：Sargrove攻克了radio自动化生产的问题，创造了ECME生产线；ECME的各工序介绍，以及它的优缺点。下面我们来看选项：A. Approaches to reduce the price of radio; 降低收音机价格而开发ECME是文章引入性的内容，即是Sargrove开发ECME的原因，按照前面对于文章大意的概括，可见不能选A；B. a new generation of fully popular products and successful business；新一代的极其受欢迎的产品及成功的生意，属于文章未提及内容。C. an application of the automation in the early stage；早期应用自动生产线。这个选项可以接受，文中详细介绍了ECME的各道工序，及优缺点，这些都属于与应用自动生产线有关的内容。D. ECME technology can be applied in many product fields. ECME生产线可以被应用于许多产品的领域。这只是在文中两段中段落中（E段和G段）有提到，但这不是文章主要内容。所以相比较之下，答案应该为C。
