ACADEMIC RECORDS (TRANSCRIPTS)

Please list all post-secondary institutions that you have attended or are currently attending. Please list your degree-granting undergraduate institution first.

Please scan and upload your transcript(s) from all schools attended, or currently attending. If you are currently earning a degree, please submit your most up-to-date transcript. Do not mail in your official academic records or transcripts.

If your transcripts are not in English, scan and upload both the original and the certified translation.

We cannot accept “digitally signed” or encrypted transcripts. If you experience difficulty uploading your document, this may be the reason. Print out transcript, scan it, and upload the PDF.

Admitted applicants will be required to provide an official signed and sealed transcript from all schools attended. Any discrepancies between the scanned transcripts and official transcripts may result in a candidate's rejection or a withdrawal of our offer of admission.

VIDEO QUESTION

All MBAn applicants must submit a brief video statement in response to a simple, open-ended general interest question. The question is designed to help us get to know you better; to see how you express yourself and to assess fit with the MIT Sloan culture. It does not require prior preparation and will not be a technical question. The video question is a part of your required application materials and will appear as a page within the application, once the other parts of your application are completed.

Applicant receives a randomly generated question and has 2 minutes to prepare a 60 second response.

OPTIONAL QUESTION

The Admissions Committee invites you to share additional information about yourself, in any format. If you choose a multimedia format, please host the information on a website and provide us with the URL. Please keep all videos and media limited to 2:00 minutes, or LESS, in total length. Please ensure you provide an unprotected link (no password required).

Please keep all written essays to 250 words or less.

TEST SCORES

The GMAT or GRE is required of all applicants. We accept both the GMAT and GRE test results and have no preference for one over the other. Test scores are only valid for five years. Please include percentiles when submitting your score.

A valid test score (GMAT or GRE) must be taken on or after January 9, 2013. Additional scores will not be accepted after you have submitted your application.

The TOEFL and IELTS

All applicants whose native language is not English and who have not received their entire undergraduate education in an English-speaking country must submit scores from one of two internationally recognized assessments of English language proficiency, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Test scores are valid for two years. For applicants planning to enter the program in 2018, we will consider scores for tests taken on or after January 9, 2016.

Receiving your undergraduate degree in a country that lists English as an official language such as India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, or Singapore does not exempt you from the English language proficiency requirement.

The MIT Sloan School of Management, with support and leadership from the MIT Operations Research Center, introduces a new, specialized one-year Master of Business Analytics program designed to prepare students for careers in business analytics.

The program is tailored for current students or recent college graduates who plan to pursue a career in the data science industry, as well as those seeking career advancement or change, especially engineers, mathematicians, physicists, computer programmers, and other high-tech professionals.

The program answers the industry’s demand for a skilled pool of graduates who can apply data science to solve business challenges. With the addition of this program, MIT now offers an analytics degree at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
