Completed Graduate Application
Complete the online application form to provide details on your intended area
of study, prior education, and work history.
Personal Essays
As part of your application for admission, you will be asked to respond to
four essay questions. You can work on your essay questions in advance by
downloading them here.
We ask that you keep your essay responses to no more than six typewritten
pages in total (double spacing and 12 pt. Times Roman font are recommended) for
all four essays. You may combine your essays into one document. Please include
your name at the top of each page.
Two Professional Recommendations
Two professional recommendations are required to apply. These recommendations
are submitted via the online application system, and must be submitted by the
final online application due date.
Official Transcripts
It is not necessary to send official transcripts in order to apply for the
program, if you are able to scan and upload your transcripts to the online
system. If you are later admitted to the program, you will be asked to send the
official transcripts.
You must submit original hard copies of your transcripts/academic records
before enrolling in the program. Records must have a seal and signature in ink
from the institution’s authorized official, such as the registrar or recorder of
records. For degrees from international institutions, records must be in the
original language of the institution attended, and accompanied by official
English translations. Have transcripts sent directly to the MAcc Program Office
from your schools.
Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) Score
A GMAT score is required to apply. There is no stated minimum GMAT score for
admission to the program. GRE scores will not be accepted.
The test must be taken by the online application deadline, and within five
years of the term for which you are applying. If you take the test more than
once, only your highest score will be considered. Please direct the testing
service to forward your test results to the GMAcc Program at the University of
Wisconsin–Madison (institution code: 79K-2S-23).
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL or IELTS) Score (for non-native
English speakers)
For non-native English speakers, a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 104 or an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of at least 7.5 is required for admission to the program. The test
must be taken within two years of your intended start term.
Please direct the testing service to forward your test results to the
University of Wisconsin–Madison (institution code: 1846).
Applicants who have completed three or more years in an institution where the
primary mode of instruction was English do not need to complete this requirement
and may request a waiver on the application.
Evidence of adequate financial resources for the anticipated duration of the
program is required for visa documentation by the federal government. An
International Financial Statement is only required upon admission to the GMAcc
program. This document is not required as part of the admission application.
Admissions Interview
The faculty begins selecting the candidates for interviews in February. An
in-person interview is recommended, but telephone interviews may be conducted
when necessary.
Application Fee
When you submit your online application, you will be asked to pay the
application fee of $75 (international students will pay an additional $6
processing fee). Payment must be made by credit card. Admissions decisions will
not be communicated to the applicant until the fee is paid.
