1.Resume
A current resume must be submitted with the application. Resumes should not
be more than two pages in length.
2.Transcripts
Candidates for admission are required to hold a baccalaureate degree.
Official transcripts for all undergraduate course work, as well as any
post-graduate coursework from each college or university attended, must be sent
directly to the Graduate Business Programs' office. Applicants who received a
degree from an international university must provide a photocopy of the diploma
and an official certified English translation of both the transcripts and the
diploma. In addition, an official transcript in a sealed envelope from the
attended university must be included. The candidate's file must be complete,
including receipt of all official transcripts, prior to entering the
program.
3. International Applicants
International applicants to a graduate program in the School of Business
Administration must do the following.
Documents Required
Submit the following educational documents to an approved international
credentialing evaluation service for evaluation:
a) Copy of diplomas and certificates in the original language, and
b) Official original transcripts in the original language (names of courses,
grades, and hours of instruction) for every year of study.
Documents in a language other than English must be accompanied by
professional, certified English translations. Translations
supplement,
but do not replace the official documents.

4. Letter of Recommendation
Each applicant is required to submit one letter of recommendation or the
online recommendation survey form included within the online application. Most
applicants provide a recommendation from a college instructor or from an
employer or immediate supervisor.
5. Official GMAT Score Reports
The applicant is required to submit a recent score (less than 5 years old) of
the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record
Examination (GRE) on a case-by-case basis. Test scores must be valid at the time
of admissions.
GMAT: The GMAT is administered as a computer-adaptive test (CAT) throughout
North America and in many other parts of the world. Graduate Business Programs
reserves the right to submit an applicant's GMAT score to Graduate Management
Admission Council (GMAC). For information and registration materials, please

GRE: On a case-by-case basis. The computer-based GRE is offered Monday
through Saturday in various locations. Contact Educational Testing Service to
schedule an appointment by visiting their website www.gre.org or calling (800)
GRE-CALL. The GRE locator code for the University of Miami is 5815 and for the
MBA program is 4201.
We do not accept the LSAT nor the MCAT in lieu of the GMAT.
6. English Language Proficiency Exam
Demonstrating proficiency in written and oral English is crucial as students
must participate in class discussions and presentations, as well as successfully
complete written assignments. Therefore, International applicants whose native
language is not English and/or who do not fulfill one of the criteria mentioned
below must take an English language proficient exam. Graduate Business Programs
accepts the following exams and respective scores:
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): The TOEFL should have been
taken within 2 years prior to application for admission; a minimum score of 600
(paper-based), 94 (internet-based) or 240 (computer-based) is required. Visit
the TOEFL website, www.toefl.org, for more information.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System): The IELTS should have
been taken within 2 years prior to application for admission; a minimum score of
7.0 on IELTS is required. Visit the IELTS website, www.ielts.org, for more

The above requirement may be waived for non-native English speakers provided
the applicant fulfills one of the following criteria:
An applicant has earned an undergraduate degree in a country where the
official language is English (this does not include degrees from just
English-speaking institutions or just a country where English is spoken).
An applicant has studied in the United States at an undergraduate level for
at least one year or the equivalent of 30 consecutive credits.
An applicant has lived and worked in an English-speaking country for the past
two or more years.
7. Admission Interview
Candidates may be asked to interview with an Admissions representative prior
to the Admission Committee's final decision. Interviews are by invitation only.
