The diagrams below show the changes of a town called Bridgetown in 1700 and 2000.
The modification for a town, Bridgetown, during the period of 1700 to 2000 is clearly illustrated in the given maps.
Before reconstruction, the town was divided into two parts by a river. A bridge across the river connected the roads in the northwest and southeast. In the northwestern part of the town,a large piece of land was occupied by some woods, with a market place located inside and a castle situated to the north, while on the other side of the river, the land was mainly used for farming.
By the year of 2000,great changes have taken place in this town. To be more specific,a railway line was newly built adjacent to the bridge and a bypass was extended from the roads for better transport. The former castle was replaced by a school and similarly, the farmland in the southwest of the town was reconstructed into a build-up area.
Overall, the layout of the town remained unchanged but some newly-constructed facilities ornamented this area and made it more modern.
