一转眼,雅思口语进入了9-12月的新题季,小站雅思频道第一时间为大家整理出part 3部分范文答案:Describe a decision you took a long time to take(A difficult choice you ever made) ,赶紧丧心病狂地开练吧!

1.What skills are necessary when making decisions?

Experience is the thing you need most to make decisions for. Just like answering these IELTS questions I had to practice for 2 months before I came here to give you good answers. You need to practice very well for real life situations and this is why I will be taking an internship in Canada during the summer break so that I can make good decisions in the future for my major and for my future career.

2.How can people improve their decision-making skills?

Well, everyone is faced with the need to make decisions every day. To improve our decision-making skill,I think it’s important to weigh the pros and the cons to ensure that we are making the best decision possible. In addition, we also need to limit ourselves to fewer options. More choices can lead to more regret because we consider all of the missed possibilities and worry whether we could have chosen one of the many other routes that were available. As such, narrowing options will lead to greater peace of mind.

3.How do you think computers will change the way people make decisions?

Computers and the internet already do change the way people make decisions. With so much second by second information day traders buying and selling stocks make daily decisions by using current information they receive from their computers. This kind of information for a day trader is invaluable and could mean the difference of making or losing 10’s of thousands of Yuan/dollars in just one day.

4.Do parents in China allow their children to make important decisions about the future?

Some do let their children make their own decisions, but how many or what the % is I have no idea. Some of my friends got to choose their majors but a lot of girls I know had to take accounting majors that their parents chose for them.

5.Do you think that parents should make important decisions for their children?I think it depends on the situation. If a teenager has set ideas that make sense emotionally and financially then I think they should make the decision but if the students have no idea about their future goals or career in life, their parents then should be making those decisions.

6.Do you think teachers should help students make decisions?

I’m not so sure about the teachers in other countries but sometimes in China we can become very close to our teachers and even visit their house on occasions. This creates sort of a friend/mentor situation and in that case those teachers can shed great light on a situation and give great advice to their students.

7.How can older people (parents) help young people (their children) make their own decisions wisely?

Well, I think children's lives are very controlled, with their parents make most of the decisions. However, I don't think this way can really improve children's decision-making skills. As far as I'm concerned, parents can offer some choices or suggestions to their children, but let their children make decisions by themselves. In addition, it's parents' duty to offer correct guidance if they find their children are making intolerable decisions.

8.What do you think are the qualities of a good leader (or a good decision maker)?

Well, I think there are several qualities that I think a leader should have. First, a good leader should acquire the ability to organize people with different backgrounds.Secondly, a leader may be patient enough to listen to his underlings and still keep his own mind. Finally, a good leader should treat team members fairly without bias or discrimination, which would greatly stimulate those diligent members so the efficiency of the whole team can be improved. Therefore, I think they are the most important qualities.

9.Do you think it's important for parents to encourage the development of leadership abilities in their children? (Why/why not?)

No, I think some people are cut out to be leaders and others aren’t. Forcing someone to develop leadership skills when they aren’t that type of person is a waste of time and money.

10.In what ways can parents encourage their children to develop leadership abilities?

If the children show signs that they could be a potential leader of some sort then encouraging them to take part in being the class/hall monitor is a first step. Later they might be the leader of a student union and other positions in group projects.
