【雅思口语Part2】Describe something you did with a group of people2

At senior high school, my 2 classmates and I, as a team won a knowledge contest about Chinese ancient literature. The success taught me a lesson about team work.

Our Chinese teacher conducted a mock contest in our class in advance and I was very lucky to be selected along with other two to represent my class. In the beginning, we were under great pressure. The odds seemed to be stacked up against us when compared to those liberal arts rivals. What’s more, the contest was held 2 days after the monthly exam.Therefore we had to make time for preparations.

This contest had three parts: the written test, lectures and quick response questions. To better our chance, we made adivision according to our specialties. Wu zhanghao who was good at information search and editing were responsible for collecting data while I was responsible for cramming all the information thanks to a good memory. And Wen dong ni, a girl good with writing, crafted the speech. Each morning, we updated what we got and help each other out. In the

Finally came the big day. The written test was a no-brainer that nearly everyone got full marks, and due to a well-prepared draft, we made a wonderful performance in the speech. Then it was my turn to stand under the spotlight for the quick response contest. My hands trembled when I touch the microphone and saw all the students in the auditorium gazing at us. But my teammates calmed me down with some encouraging words and look,and thus I felt I was ready. When the host started to read the questions, the answers naturally popped up in my mind. Eventually, I missed only two questions of the total of 16. We became champions.

It’s a journey of new discovery of myself and the people beside me. The trust and friendship along the ups and downs are the real prize I gained from the whole contest.
