【Part2】Describe a situation that someone gave you suggestion1

years ago, I reached the crossroad of my life. I was really overwhelmed with selecting my major in university and it brought me a lot of headaches. Thanks god, my teacher back in high school really helped me a lot by sharing valuable experience and constructive suggestion with me and I finally made it through.

Firstly, he advised me to follow my heart and told me that interest is the mother of everything. He used an example of his former student who went to Jiaotong university and studied medical science,which is the perfect major for his parents. He knew nothing about medicalscience but the

happiness it brought to his parents.Actually, he loved writing and dreamt of being a poet, which is the most unstable job in his parents’ point of view. He gave up and obeyed the parents’ order.After a semester, he had to return to high school to get another chance to select a new major, since he couldn’t find his feet in medical school. It is a waste of time to put yourself into a condition that is out of your element（令自己不舒服的情况，in an uncomfortable situation）. If you are really passionate about something, you will be willing to learning it and achieve more. On the contrary, if you don’t even like the thing you are doing, you will be definitely less efficient and lose your motivation gradually.My teacher encouraged me a lot by letting me know how important to do the thing that I’m into, thanks to him now I have a cheerful and satisfactory college life. This valuable advice really changed my life to a large extend. I can’t imagine if I hadn’t followed his advice and selected my major casually. It could be such a torture I assume .
