Jack was my best friend when we were in our junior high school. Since his house wasnot far from my home, I often went to his home and played with him. Since Jack’sfamily had close relationship with their backwoods relatives（乡下亲戚）, they sometime went to help their relativeswith the farm work. On one weekend, Jack offered to show me and two otherfriends the planting process. We felt more than excited to get a chance tovisit the countryside for two days. So when Jack’s parents finished their work,they drove us to the house down in the farmlands. On our way there, we chattedand imagined how this weekend would be like. The scenes far away from downtownwere so different. We saw cows eating grass leisurely and a big yellow doglying in the sunset lazily. It seemed that the pace of life in the countrysidewas much slower than in the city. During the weekend, Jack’s father took us tohelp Jack’s uncle on planting rice. It was a rather tiring work since we had tobend down deep into the water and exposed the entire back to the sunshine. Wetalked and made fun of each other, so we did have a lot of fun at thefarmlands. By the way, the cooking skill of Jack’s mother was really brilliant,the noodles she cooked were so tasty that we had twice as much as we would atschool. The experience in farm was so different from what we had in the cityand we told Jack that we would like to pay another visit whenever his parentshad time.
