【雅思口语P2】A piece of good news you heard of from TV or the Internet

When I was on my way home yesterday afternoon, I was boring so I connected my cellphone with the internet. Then I received the daily electronic newspaper from Wechat. The FrontPage of the newspaper was about a government officer’s being accused for corruption. Someone posted the evidence of his corruption on the internet, then he was investigated. I was so glad to receive this kind of news since some government officers did not do a good job in their work. A public servant should work diligently in an honest and clean way and abide by laws and regulations when performing his duties. He must remember that personal interests should put behind country’s interests. But the truth is, some of them do their work not for the people but for their own interest. They build their own social relationship in order to gain more money from different ways. In the past, people did not have a good way to supervise these government officers. But now, with the help of the internet, normal people are able to supervise the government officers and force them to discipline themselves. More and more officers are investigated or arrested for their inappropriate behaviours. And this kind of news, on the other hand, is a warning for these officers. They should know that their behaviours are disciplined by law and watched by people. With the development of the public supervision system, the service of the government worker will definitely become better.
