I think taking a cooking class is a great opportunity for students to learn how to make healthy food and let them know to eat healthier. As we all know, obesity has become a serious problem in contemporary society, especially among young people, diseases caused by unhealthy eating habits is becoming more prevalent. So eating healthy is more important now than ever. People who cannot cook usually eat at restaurants or buy food at a stand, which tend to serve full of fat and salt. Also, these places sometimes have poor hygiene. If students can learn how to cook through taking this class, they can cook for themselves. For example, I have a friend whose parents both do not know how to cook. Every day they go out for dinner. My friend and both of his parents are overweight and have health issues because of their bad eating habits. I think my friend would develop better eating habits if he knew how to cook.
