摘要：对于大学生来说，毕业典礼既是结束，也是开始。卡斯尔顿州立学院在建校228周年之际，迎来了史上最盛大的毕业典礼。3000名学生及亲友参加了此次盛典。

2015年5月9日，卡斯尔顿州立学院举行了她的第228届毕业典礼。本届毕业生共有508位，创下卡尔斯顿州立学院的历史记录。本场毕业典礼也因此成为卡斯尔顿州立学院建校以来最盛大的毕业典礼：432位学生在毕业典礼中上台接受全场约3000名亲属朋友的欢呼和掌声。

卡斯尔顿州立学院校长Dave Wolk 在毕业典礼上发表以下讲话：

“Castleton is a special place where learning is valued, where individual differences are respected and honored, where well-educated and compassionate professors care about their students, where students prepare themselves for ever-changing careers, knowing that learning a living is as important as earning a living,”

本届毕业典礼还有另一个第一次：两位女子长曲棍球队成员为了参加NCAA全国冠军赛而缺席当天正式的毕业典礼，因此她们在两天前的彩排上提前获得了自己的学位。

对于这几位女生取得的优异成绩，校长表示：

“It was a heartwarming experience for all of us, their families and for these wonderful women who graduated first in their class. This is yet the most recent example of what is quintessential Castleton. I ask you to always remember your special place in this small college with the big heart.”

毕业典礼举行当天，已荣休的教授John Feenick接受了学校校友会办法的杰出教职工奖。

本届学生领袖Cassandra Pinaire 发表演讲：

“Castleton just felt like home, and that’s all I wanted and Castleton has turned out to provide me with much more than just an education. It gave me an additional group of people to call family.”

“I believe that our generation has the potential to change the world. Not just because we live in a world that needs saving more and more day by day, but because we are a generation of lovers and acceptors of other people, of other customs, of other beliefs that are different from our own.”
