Online application submission and $105 fee for domestic applicants/$125 fee
for international applicants
Transcripts of all undergraduate/graduate institutions. Unofficial
transcripts can be used for the application review process however official
copies will need to be sent if you are admitted. UC Berkeley requires:
Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited
institution.
You have a minimum grade-point average of a 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale.
International applicants: transcripts and degree certificates must be
submitted in the language of instruction and English (with the exception of
those in Spanish). If your institution does not issue your documents in English,
translations must be prepared by an American Translators Association certified
translator.
Official GRE Revised General Test scores (Berkeley’s institution code is
4833)
TOEFL or IELTS scores if you are an applicant from a country where English is
not an official language
This requirement applies to applicants from Bangladesh, Nepal, India,
Pakistan, Latin America, the Middle East, Israel, the People’s Republic of
China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, most European countries, and
non-English-speaking countries in Africa.
Three letters of recommendation
At least one academic, preferably two.
